Getting around Basel

The local airport is EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (BSL), which is about a ten-minute drive to Basel. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.

Matt says that there’s no need to rent a car if you’re planning on staying in the city. The Basel bus/tram system is very efficient and economical with day passes available for around $10.

If you wish to travel to other locations outside of Basel, like Alsace, Germany’s Black Forest, or other Swiss destinations, it’s a good idea to rent a car. For the best rental car offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.
