I’m really excited to interview Elliot Shibley of The Travelers Blueprint about Hershey, Pennsylvania. Elliot’s tips for the best things to do in Hershey are awesome because he originally moved to Hershey for school and to be with his fiancé, but has stayed here because of all the outdoor activities and the city’s close proximity to major metro areas.

Getting around Hershey

The local airport is Harrisburg International Airport (MDT), which is about a twenty-minute drive to Hershey. For other airport options, BWI, Dulles, Reagan, and Philadelphia are all about two hours away. According to Elliot, the train ride from Philly or NYC is really easy as well.

Elliot says that it’s a good idea to rent a car when you visit Hershey. There is very little public transit available and parking is usually not an issue. Plus, it makes it easier to drive to many of the hiking spots along the Appalachian Trail and other local outdoor areas. For the best rental car offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.

Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around if you’re staying local.

When you only need a car for a couple of hours, you can rent by the hour with Zipcar. Join now to get $25 loaded into your account.
