Alabama Civil Rights Trail – Edmund Pettis Bridge, Experience Givers & 16th Ave Church

I’m really excited to interview Mira Temkin of Mira Temkin Travel about the Alabama Civil Rights Trail. Mira’s tips for the best things to do along the Civil Rights Trail are awesome because she has been writing about the U.S. Civil Rights Trail since its inception in 2018. Mira recently had the opportunity to visit the Alabama historical sites along the trail, and she wanted to share her experiences with my listeners.

Getting around the Alabama Civil Rights Trail

To visit the Alabama Civil Rights trail, your best options are to fly to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHX). You can also fly to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), which might have more options and lower-priced flights since it is a much larger airport with more direct flights from across the country.

Because the trail is spread across the state, you’ll need a car to visit all of the historical landmarks. For the best offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.

Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around.

When you only need a car for a couple of hours, you can rent by the hour with Zipcar. Join now to get $25 loaded into your account.
