Getting around Anchorage

The local airport is Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC), which is about a ten-minute drive to downtown.

Chris says that you should rent a car when visiting Anchorage since it can be hard to rely on public transportation. For the best offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.

Who is Chris Lundgren?

Chris is a writer who has lived, worked, and played in Alaska for 25 years. Her book, Accidental Adventures: Alaska–True Tales of Ordinary People Facing Danger in the Wilderness, came out a couple of years ago. She has written two other books as well as
articles for Runner’s World magazine, Alaska Coast magazine, Morris Communications, and other magazines and newspapers
across the country. Beyond writing, her favorite things to do are hiking, running, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and hanging
out with her family.
