Lake George, New York
Lake George is in mid-state New York, less than an hour from the Vermont border. The lake is very popular in the region and the locals love that you can live like you are vacation year-round. There is so much to do on the lake and the surrounding area. Visitors can tour history at two forts, hike in the Adirondacks, or watch the horses race at Saratoga Springs. And for the adventurous types, you can challenge yourself with the treetop adventure centers or explore the five miles of hiking trails at Ausable Chasm, the Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks.

Getting around Lake George
The nearest airport to Lake George is Albany International Airport (ALB), which is about an hour south of Lake George. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.
Sara says that most visitors drive to Lake George, so they’ll around have a car to get around. If you’re staying near the lake, Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around. And the city has a trolley system that is easy to use.
