I’m really excited to interview Christie Hudson of Expedia about Seattle, Washington. Christie’s tips for the best things to do in Seattle are awesome because she was born and raised in the Seattle area, moved away after college, then came home for a job and to start a family. She loves being outside in the city’s fresh air, green spaces and local lakes.

Getting around Seattle

The local airport is Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA), which is about a twenty-minute drive to downtown. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.

Christie says that you don’t need to rent a car when visiting Seattle. The city has excellent public transportation, including bus routes and a light rail system. You can also ride the Seattle ferries to visit Bainbridge Island or enjoy views of the skyline. If you want to explore outside the downtown area or go hiking in the local mountains, renting a car from Avis, Budget, or Hertz is a smart choice.

Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around.

When you only need a car for a couple of hours, you can rent by the hour with Zipcar. Join now to get $25 loaded into your account.
