I’m really excited to interview Claire Tak of Claire’s Holiday about Honolulu, Hawaii. Claire’s tips for the best things to do in Honolulu are awesome because she escaped to Hawaii after the lockdowns ended and never left. She believes that the island’s relaxed, happy Aloha culture is truly something special.

Getting around Honolulu

The local airport is Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), which is about a ten-minute drive to Honolulu. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.

Claire says that you should rent a car when visiting Honolulu so you can see different parts of the island. For the best rental car offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.

Uber and Lyft are also excellent ways to get around if you want to park your car and explore the more populated areas of the island. But, they aren’t a good option when visiting out-of-the-way destinations since it may be difficult to find a ride on your way back.
