I’m really excited to interview Craig Thorn, the co-founder of High Season Co. and host of BAOS Podcast, about Montreal, Canada. Craig’s tips for the best things to do in Montreal are awesome because he moved here with his girlfriend in 2012 to learn French at McGill University. They loved how beautiful, yet affordable, it was and stayed to enjoy the great food and incredible summers.

Montreal, Canada
We share a lot of resources and local suggestions in today’s podcast, but you should also check out Montreal, the local visitor’s bureau. They are a wealth of information and can help you plan an itinerary based on your time, budget, and interests.

Getting around Montreal
The local airport is Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), which is about a 15-minute drive to the city. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.
Craig says that there’s no need to rent a car if you’re staying in the city. If you’re going to explore outside the city, like visiting Mont Tremblant or the Laurentians, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz for the best rental car offers. Just remember that parking and driving can be confusing since most signs are in French.
The STM public transportation system is reliable and cheap. Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around.
