I’m really excited to interview Urmi Hossain of My Ways about Montreal, Canada. Urmi’s tips for the best things to do in Montreal are awesome because she was born in Italy and moved to Montreal for college. Urmi stayed here to work after graduating and currently works in finance during the day while spending her free time advocating for women’s empowerment.

Getting around Montreal
The local airport is Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), which is about a 15-minute drive from Montreal. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.
Urmi says that the decision to rent a car depends on what your plans are. Parking is terrible downtown, so she recommends avoiding a rental car if you’re staying in the downtown area. The metro and bus are reliable ways to get around. And Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around the city.
However, for activities outside the city, like snowboarding at Mont Tremblant or hiking in the many local parks, you should rent a car. Visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz for the best rental car offers.
When you only need a car for a couple of hours, you can rent by the hour with Zipcar. Join now to get $25 loaded into your account.
