Getting around Tbilisi
The local airport is Tbilisi International Airport (TBS), a 20-minute drive from Tbilisi. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.
Paul says that renting a car is a good idea when traveling to more remote areas within Georgia. For the best rental car offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.
However, you don’t need one if you’re staying within the main part of the city. Public transportation within the city is excellent and affordable. There are city buses, a metro train and minibusses available. And the Blue bus #337 from the airport is only 1 GEL (approx 37 cents).
Uber and Lyft are unavailable in Georgia, but other rideshare apps like Bolt (formerly Taxify) and Yandex are. Taxis are also very affordable.

Who is Paul McDougal?
