I’m really excited to interview Mike Green of Tourism Winnipeg about Winnipeg, Canada. Mike’s tips for the best things to do in Winnipeg are awesome because he grew up nearby and moved back to Winnipeg in 2010 to start his family. He loves to skate on the river trails in the winter and explore the local parks in the summer.

Getting around Winnipeg
The local airport is Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG), which is a 15-minute drive to downtown. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.
Mike says that there’s no need to rent a car if you’re staying downtown. Downtown Spirit offers free transit service within the downtown area. Winnipeg Transit also has a network of bus routes throughout the city. Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around. Check out the Tourism Winnipeg site for other transportation options during your visit.
Renting a car is a good idea when you want to explore outside the city center. For the best rental car offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.
