Berlin used to be a divided city after World War II. The Berlin Wall fell in November 1989 as East Berlin’s Communist Party announced a change in his city’s relations with the West. Starting at midnight that day, citizens were free to cross the country’s borders. It was a momentous day that reunited this great city. The city has a rich history that travelers will love as they explore this city that dates back to the 13th century.
Maikol says that winter can be a tough time to visit because it gets dark early and the temperatures can be cold. Summer is his favorite time of year because you can enjoy the open-air scene and countless venues, clubs, and cultural spaces.

Getting around Berlin
The local airport is the Berlin Shonefeld Airport (SXF), which is about a 20-minute ride on the S-Bahn to downtown.
Maikol says that public transportation is impeccable, with options including the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, and buses. The system is well-organized, spacious, safe, and fairly punctual. However, it is massive and can take a little while to get to understand.

Who is Maikol Piardi?
Maikol Piardi is an Instagram consultant that helps clients grow their following organically and market their business better. He’s originally from Northern Italy and fell in love with Berlin during a weekend trip with his girlfriend. They always wanted to live someplace else in Europe, so they made the leap of faith to move to Germany.
Music is a big part of Maikol’s life. He traveled throughout Italy for 10 years as a professional vocalist and event manager. He has a Master’s Degree in Trade Marketing & Strategic Business and uses that education to assist his clients with their social media strategies. As an extension of his love of travel and music, he created the podcast Music Travel Guide.
