I’m really excited to interview Tom Drake of MapleMoney.com about Calgary, Canada. Tom’s tips for the best things to do in Calgary are awesome because he’s lived in Calgary for many years and runs one of the most popular Canadian finance blogs and personal finance podcasts. With his frugal mind, you know he has some great tips for saving money when you visit.

Getting around Calgary
The local airport is Calgary International Airport (YYC), which is about a twenty-minute drive to downtown.
Tom says that, if you’re staying downtown, there’s no need to rent a car. Scooters and bikes can also be rented in the downtown area. The CTrain Light Rail system can get you to attractions that are further out, like the Zoo and Science Center. And there’s also the urban tramway and buses for inexpensive options. Download the Calgary Transit App to check the schedules and buy your tickets.
