I’m really excited to interview Tim Grossmann of the Explo App about Kiel, Germany. Tim’s tips for the best things to do in Kiel are awesome because he moved to Kiel three years ago after living abroad and loves how incredible summertime is because of its proximity to water.
We share a lot of resources and local suggestions in today’s podcast, but you should also check out Welcome to Kiel, the local visitor’s bureau. They are a wealth of information and can help you plan an itinerary based on your time, budget, and interests.

Getting around Kiel
Tim says you can get where you need to go by renting a bike or e-scooter. Parking is extremely difficult, so he doesn’t recommend renting a car. Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around if you need to go longer distances.

Who is Tim Grossmann ?
Tim Grossmann started living in Kiel three years ago. He is the founder of the Explo App, which helps locals and visitors discover the best and most interesting places around. Because of creating this app he now knows most of what’s going on in Kiel and what places are worth a visit. He has probably taken a dozen tours to learn every little secret there is, yet there’s still more to discover.
