Lansing, Michigan

We share a lot of resources and local suggestions in today’s podcast, but you should also check out Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau, the local visitor’s bureau. They are a wealth of information and can help you plan an itinerary based on your time, budget, and interests. Eric recommends getting the Michigan Activity Pass from your local library if you qualify. It provides free admission and discounts on attractions throughout Michigan.

Getting around Lansing

The local airport is Lansing Capital Regional International Airport (LAN), which is about a 15-minute drive to downtown. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Gerald R. Ford International Airport (in Grand Rapids, GRR) are also good options for more flight choices. Both are just an hour away from Lansing.

Eric says that renting a car is the easiest way to get around town. Locals and visitors can use the CATA buses, but the hours are limited. , if you’re staying downtown, it’s still a good idea to rent a car. For the best offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.

Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around.

When you only need a car for a couple of hours, you can rent by the hour with Zipcar. Join now to get $25 loaded into your account.
