Getting around Sunshine Coast
The local airport is Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY), which supports all local airlines. The closest international airport is Brisbane Airport (BNE), which is an hour and half away from Sunshine Coast. Use our Expedia tool below to find flight, hotel, and rental car options.
Leanne and Lyle say that it’s best to rent a car so you can easily explore all of the cities along the Sunshine Coast. For the best rental car offers, visit Avis, Budget, or Hertz.
Uber and Lyft are excellent ways to get around if you’re uncomfortable driving on the “wrong” (aka left) side of the road.

They downsized and moved to King’s Beach over seven years ago and just love this part of Australia.
