Best Things to Do in Maui

  • Maui Visitors Bureau
  • Pacific Whale Foundation – For Whale Watching tours I recommend Pacific Whale Foundation, not only because they have very knowledgeable guides (certified Marine Naturalists) and underwater hydrophones (so you can hear the whales singing) but because all profits from their cruises, as well as our Ocean Store retail operations, support Pacific Whale Foundation’s research, education, and conservation programs.
  • Road To Hana (reviews) – Road to Hana – if you stay over 2 nights you’ll save $$.

Getting around Maui

The local airport is Kahului Airport (OGG), which is about 20 minutes from the center of Maui.

Kim Julen says that you will want a car when you visit. There isn’t public transportation available and many attractions are close, but not necessarily walking distance.

You can use Uber and Lyft and these are excellent ways to get around.

If you need to rent a car, click here for the best offers from Avis, Budget, or Hertz.

If you only need a car for a couple of hours, you can rent by the hour with Zipcar. Join now to get $25 loaded into your account.
